Atypical life

There are some things to be expected in the everyday life here. Things like...

riding our bikes around

having dinner with the chinese teachers

being lectured by Freda about our health

watching atleast one episode of Modern Family

people starring at us when we go outside

chinese people shouting out the only random english words at us they know. like "HELLO" "how are you" 'i love you" "ok" and then giggling hysterically if we respond

Hearing me say "icecream anyone?" at about 7pm. and then again at 11.

Seeing our adorable kids monday-friday

But really...There is no typical day in China.

Just when i think im getting accustomed to the "chinese way" i look around and see things like this....

{taxi man sleeping... slow business day?}

{um. "food" at the town market.}

{ lady selling bananas in a random alley}

{ i have no explanation why this kid is in a box. maybe hes being more courteous than the other kids who just pee in the street? or maybe hes just havin a good time}

{ these arent for sale to be pets......}

we may be getting used to the stares, and shout-outs, but its always a surprise and entertaining as to what exactly theyll say, or the expressions on their faces.

we may get used to the fact that we will see random things at the market, but its still always a shock when we see them.

we may get used to seeing our kids everyday, but they never cease to amaze us with new english words, and goofy things they do

these are just small examples of things seen randomly here. times these encounters by ten... and theres an atypical day in china!
