wo ai china

BAH. i cant keep up with blogging. i cant even keep up with writing in my journal. theres so many things that happen that i tell myself i want to take a mental note of and always remember... but really its hard to keep track of them all. i feel like wev been so busy lately, and so much has happened, but i cant even think of it all! Have i mentioned how very much i love china?

Wo ai China

countless taxi rides on motorcycles. "motorchu". this was anna and i on our way to mcdonalds

beautiful park

one of the best things about being in another country is the transportation. i know that sounds super weird, and a lot of the time they are a pain and a headache.. but buses and trains and the metro are where we have the most fun at times. . which leads me to...
meet jack.
the sweetest, cutest guy in china. looks like 14 right? negative, hes 22. thats normal here, everyone looks 10-15 years younger than they actually are

jack was so thrilled to meet us, this is just one of the many texts we got later that night. so sweet

weve been going on a lot of "home visits" recently. the parents of our students invite us over to their homes and sometimes we eat with them and stay for a few hours, or sometimes its just a quick hello. we love jacks parents. they are the ones who took us to KTV. They live in a really cool little community where they both teach school

{driving around the neighborhood}

they took us out to dinner and got SO much food. and you knoooow it was delish! but really, it was delish. they spoil us.

{so schleepy after our long day}

i love all the people we meet on a day to day basis, and i try to remember them all.
meet aaron and chad.

this was an odd little pair these two. they were pretty much all over eachother all day. holding hands, arms around eachother, etc etc. just to be clear, i dont care the tiniest bit if they do that... its just humorous because they have to convince us they are just co-workers/friends. we asked them if boys are aloud to like boys in china, and the answer is "yew will get in truh ball"
they were such a mystery.

{Left- Aaron Right- Chad}

Aaron came up to us when we were wondering around outside of the store and was excited to speak english to actual americans. his friend didnt speak a lick of english, but sat there and giggled the whole time. we asked them if they knew which bus we take to get to ....mcdonalds..
ok dont judge. we dont go there as often as it sounds. so aaron and chad tagged along with us to go eat. somehow we got talked into going to a nice restaurant where they both work.. and they payed for all of our food and transportation. he said they "want to be our friends" thats why they insisted on paying for us. hahahhahaha ohhhh chinese.

alright, where to start with this night. remember my little crush on the guard at our apartment gate?
this guy

we went out to dinner with him & one of his friends, and then SOMEHOW ended up at a rollerdisco... club..... bar? it looked soo sketchy from the outside, and we were pretty nervous what was inside. we walked in.. and saw a big roller rink with dancing in the middle? whhhat the. that was a good laugh.

to cut the story short we left pretty early because of the crazy people inside. but it made for some good memories

one of the many reasons i love anna.
heehee

we have a weekly Kung Fu class, that we are rockin. actually im pretty sure that our kung fu teacher hates us cuz we are probably worse than the kids. but its so fun! and we get a good workout

this was on our way to another home visit to Lucys house. we took the bus with Lucy and all the kids... this kid kept kissing me on the cheek. hahah course had to snap a memory of it
Lucy is always posing for pictures, and doing salsa dancing. she loves to be center of attention which made for a night of her yelling a lot to be noticed hahaha Lucy is a really good student, and is learning so much so fast.

doing the Lucy pose.

the amount of mosquitoes here is ridiculous. we always have at least a few somewhere on our body. this weekend poor april got about 30 on her legs.....
